Great social media execution is a powerful new weapon in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) that can lead to top search rankings for your company. Today, over 50% of Google searches for major brands turn up user-generated content, blog articles and other social media related content. However, most fail to deliver even close to the desired results.
Of the three pillars of SEO (content, architecture, and links), it’s the “link authority” pillar that’s usually the weakest. If only it weren’t so darned difficult and time-consuming to acquire high quality, relevant links! Yet without such links, you won’t be able to earn the trust, authority and importance required to rank well in search results, and your optimization efforts will fall short.
So, how do you solve this?
For the answer, join AMA Michiana for our April 15 luncheon! Author and consultant Stephan Spencer will share how to deploy a structured process via social media that can help your company be found – and stand out – in search engine results.
Need another reason to join? Our event sponsor, Effect Web Agency, will be offering their Effect Website Kits, which are a set of 10 tools to help you learn how to make your website more effective. These are available exclusively to those who register.

About our Speaker
Stephan M. Spencer, M.Sc., is author of Google Power Search published in July 2011 by O’Reilly. He is an author of The Art of SEO, also published by O’Reilly and now in its second edition – with co-authors Eric Enge, Jessie Stricchiola, and Rand Fishkin.
Stephan is the founder of Netconcepts. Netconcepts started out as a web design and marketing agency, but over time morphed into a leading SEO firm. Stephan, and Netconcepts, had been heavy into the science of SEO since 1999. Netconcepts was acquired in January 2010 by paid and organic search software/services agency Covario. Covario is one of the rare companies to make it onto the Inc. 500 list two years in a row — in 2009 and then again in 2010.
Stephan is the inventor of the automated pay-for-performance natural search technology platform GravityStream, now re-branded as Covario’s Organic Search Optimizer. Stephan is a Senior Contributor to Practical Ecommerce and to MarketingProfs.com, a monthly columnist on Search Engine Land, and a regular contributor to Multichannel Merchant magazine. He’s also contributed to DM News, Catalog Age, Catalog Success, Unlimited, and NZ Marketing magazine, among others.
He is a frequent conference speaker on SEO and other online marketing topics for the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), American Marketing Association (AMA), Shop.org, Internet Retailer, SMX, IncisiveMedia (Search Engine Strategies), O’Reilly/TechWeb, PubCon, ECMOD, IQPC and IIR. His many hundreds of speaking gigs have taken him around the globe – everywhere from Berlin, London, Toronto, Santiago, and Auckland, to New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and places in between. Stephan is an avid blogger.
He blogs at Stephan Spencer’s Scatterings, NaturalSearchBlog.com, BusinessBlogConsulting.com, ChangesForGood.org, and Google, I Suggest… He’s also been a contributor for the following group blogs: Searchlight (part of the CNET Blog Network), Shop.org Blog, and MarketingProfs Daily Fix. Stephan is on the advisory board of CrowdGather. He holds an M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
